What does V mean?

Voltage (V) is the electric potential or potential difference between two points.
Volt (V) is the unit of measurement for voltage. It is named after the Italian physicist Alessandro Volta.

In simple terms, the voltage can be thought of as electrical "pressure" or "force" that drives electric charges (electrons) through a circuit. Similar to water pressure in a pipe pushing water, voltage pushes electric charges through a circuit. The higher the voltage, the stronger the electrical "pressure," causing more electric charges to flow.
