Value-Added Services (VAS) refers to any non-core services that can be added to a core product to enhance the user experience.
In the telecommunications industry, it means those services that are offered by telecom service providers to customers beyond the core services like voice, data, and messaging services. Some examples of VAS in telecom are music subscriptions, on-demand video subscriptions, mobile gaming, apps, and so on.
