What does UPF mean?
Unity Power Factor (UPF) refers to a power factor (pf) of 1, a condition where the apparent power (kVA) and the active power (kW) are equal. This means that all the electrical energy delivered to the circuit is being used for useful work, with no reactive power component.
In other words, the voltage and current waveforms are perfectly aligned, leading to maximum efficiency in power transfer and minimal waste of energy.
Note:
A power factor of 1 or unity power factor is the ideal scenario for maximizing the efficiency of an electrical system.
