What does TFT mean?
Thin-Film Transistor (TFT) is a type of Field-Effect Transistor (FET) manufactured by depositing thin-film of semiconductor layer along with the dielectric layer & metallic connections over a supporting substrate. Thin-Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display (TFT LCD) is a variant of a Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) that uses TFT to improve image quality.
TFT LCD is an active matrix display which means that they can simultaneously retain certain pixels on a screen while also addressing other pixels. Each pixel of the TFT LCD is controlled by a transistor which makes the pixel to be turned on and off at a faster rate. It also refreshes more quickly than a regular LCD display and shows motion more smoothly.
