What does C mean?
C is a general-purpose programming language that is widely used in system programming, embedded systems, and various other applications. It was first developed in the early 1970s by Dennis Ritchie at Bell Labs.
C was intended to be an improvement on the original B (programming language) and decided to call it "C" to indicate that it was the next version of the language.
The "B" was developed at Bell Labs in the early 1970s by Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie and was a simplified version of the Basic Combined Programming Language (BCPL) programming language.
The name "B" may possibly be a contraction of BCPL.
