What does TIS mean?
Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS) is a category-wise information summary of a taxpayer in the income tax portal. It is a crucial element of the Annual Information Statement (AIS).
TIS contains the information relating to income earned from various sources such as salary, dividends, interest from the savings accounts, recurring deposits, sale and purchase of equity shares, bonds, mutual funds, and so on. It shows the processed value and the derived value of the Income Tax. The derived information in TIS will be used for prefilling of return, if applicable.
