What does SLR mean?
Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera uses a single lens for both picture taking and for the viewfinder. An SLR camera typically uses a moving mirror system (hence “reflex”, from the mirror’s reflection) that permits the photographer to see the image in the viewfinder as same as what will appear on film or digital image, as opposed to cameras where the view through the viewfinder could be significantly different from what was captured on film.
