What does SHF mean?
Super High Frequency (SHF) is the Radio-Frequency (RF) band in the range 3-30 GHz. SHF and Extremely High-Frequency (EHF) are known as the microwave bands and their wavelengths are short enough to be propagated by highly directional antennas and waveguides. Propagation ranges are limited to line-of-sight but long-distance communication can be achieved by employing a series of radio relay stations. These portions of the spectrum are used for television and high-speed data services requiring large bandwidths.
