National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) is a United States government initiative to evaluate Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Information Technology (IT) products for conformance to the international Common Criteria. It was originated to meet the security testing needs of both Information Technology (IT) consumers and producers. NIAP is operated by the National Security Agency (NSA).
