What does LOP mean?
A Line Of Position (LOP) is a navigational line drawn on a chart to a known object using observation out on the surface of the earth. A single line of position lets you know navigator’s position located somewhere along this line. By plotting multiple lines of position, a navigator can pinpoint his exact location on the map.
