What does Intel mean?

Intel Intel is a multinational semiconductor chip maker headquartered in Santa Clara, California, United States. Intel was originally founded in Mountain View, California in 1968 by American engineers Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore. Moore and Noyce initially wanted to name the company “Moore Noyce”, but it sounded too close to ‘more noise’, they used the name NM Electronics instead. Later they decided upon the name “Intel”, a shortened version of “Integrated electronics”.
