Indian Financial System Code (IFSC) or IFS Code, is an alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies individual bank branches that participate in any of the various Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulated electronic funds transfer systems in India.
IFSC is an 11 digit code with the first 4 alphabetic characters representing the bank, the 5th character is 0 (zero), and the last 6 characters (usually numeric) representing the branch.
