What does HSIL mean?
High-grade Squamous Intraepithelial Lesion (HSIL) is the name given to squamous cells on a Pap smear that appear abnormal and signal an increased risk of squamous cervical cancer. HGSIL is not cervical cancer, yet when left untreated, it can lead to cervical cancer.
