What does Xerox mean?

Xerox Xerox Corporation is an American multinational company that produces and sells a range of print and digital document products and services and supplies. Xerox was founded in 1906 in Rochester, Monroe County, New York, the United States as The Haloid Photographic Company, which originally manufactured photographic paper and equipment. The company subsequently changed its name to Haloid Xerox in 1958 and then simply Xerox in 1961. The name Xerox was taken from the term Xerography which means “dry writing” (Greek xero meaning “dry” and graphy meaning “writing” ), and shortened using the model of the name of Kodak, the other large technology company in Rochester at that time.
