What does VLC mean?
VLC media player is a free and open-source, cross-platform media player and streaming server developed by the VideoLAN project.
VLC originally stood for VideoLAN Client when VLC was a client of the VideoLAN project. It was originally developed as two programs for media streaming, VideoLAN Client (VLC) and VideoLAN Server (VLS), later the features of VLS have been incorporated into VLC and renamed VLC media player.
