What does SSB mean?
Single Side Band (SSB) or Single-sideband suppressed-carrier (SSB-SC) is a type of amplitude modulation technique that uses less electrical power and bandwidth. In SSB, the carrier and one of the side bands of the Amplitude modulated signal are eliminated before transmission. This enables amplifier to focus all transmitter energy on the single sideband which allows greater range with less power consumption. SSB is very efficient for long distance communications.
