What does SPF mean?

Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is a measure of rating the degree of protection provided by sunscreens. The higher the SPF of the sunscreen, the greater the protection it offers against Ultraviolet B, the ultraviolet radiation that causes sunburn.
SPF rating indicates how well the sunscreen protects the skin against sunburn.
Examples:
SPF 30
SPF 40
SPF 50
As the SPF value increases, sunburn protection increases.

Note:
SPF is related to the amount of sun exposure, not time. Because the sun is more intense at midday compared to early morning or late evening, it takes less time to be exposed to the same amount of solar energy at midday.
