What does Rev mean?
Reverend (Rev. or Revd) is a style most often used as a prefix to the names of Christian cleric such as pastor or priest.
Eg: Rev. Fr. Patrick Henry
1. Used as a title or form of address to members of the clergy.
2. Deserving reverence.
Origin: From Middle French reverend, “worthy of respect” or from Latin reverendus “(he who is) to be respected,” gerundive of revereri.
