What does QLED mean?
Quantum dot Light Emitting Diode (QLED) refers to a type of Liquid Crystal Display (LED) backlit technology that uses quantum dots to produce more accurate and vibrant colors.
Quantum Dots (QD) are very small semiconductor particles, when hit by light, emit their own colored light.
QD can be both photo-active (photoluminescent) and electro-active (electroluminescent). The color they emit depends on their size.
QLED is cable of producing improved picture quality than a conventional LED Display in terms of brightness and diverse colors, which is well suited to showing off High Dynamic Range (HDR) content.
