What does Pixel mean?

Pixel is the fundamental logical unit in digital graphics that can be represented or controlled on a digital display screen. The term Pixel is a portmanteau of “Picture Element”. Pixels are arranged as rows and columns in a two-dimensional grid. Each pixel has its own address and can have only one color at a time. A digital image is composed of a finite number of pixels. Sometimes, thousands, millions, or even billions of pixels together form a digital image.
