What does PON mean?

Pump Octane Number (PON) refers to the octane rating displayed on gasoline pumps, indicating the fuel's ability to resist knocking.
PON is typically an average of the Research Octane Number (RON) and Motor Octane Number (MON) ratings.

Note:
Octane number is simply a measure of a fuel's tendency to resist knock.
A higher octane number indicates greater resistance to knocking under high-pressure conditions in the combustion chamber of an engine.
