What does PF mean?
Pilot Flying (PF) refers to the pilot who is responsible for flying the aircraft during a specific phase of flight.
The PF is the primary pilot in command of the aircraft and is responsible for the safety of the flight.
In a two-pilot crew, the PF is usually the captain or the more experienced pilot, while the other pilot on the flight, known as the Pilot Not Flying (PNF) or Pilot Monitoring (PM), assists the PF and handles other duties, such as communicating with air traffic control and monitoring the aircraft systems. In a single-pilot operation, the pilot is both the PF and the PM.
