What does Oracle mean?

ORACLE Oracle Corporation is a multinational computer technology corporation headquartered in Redwood City, California, United States. Oracle specializes in developing and marketing enterprise software products, technologies, and database software, particularly its own database management systems brands.
Larry Ellison, Ed Oates, and Bob Miner were working on a consulting project for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The code name for the project was Oracle. The CIA project was eventually terminated, but they decided to finish what they started and bring it to the world. In 1979 their company launched its first product “Oracle Version 2”, the earliest commercial relational database program to use Structured Query Language (SQL). Later they changed the name of the company to their flagship product, Oracle database.
