What does NRO mean?
Non-Resident Ordinary (NRO) is a bank account meant for a Non-Resident Indian (NRI) or a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) that allows to maintain and manage their income earned in India such as rent, dividends, pension etc. Any NRI can open an NRO account. Funds originating from India can only be deposited in an NRO account. NRO account is taxable.
