Non-Performing Asset (NPA) is a loan or an advance where its interest and /or installment of principal remain overdue for a period of time. More generally NPA refers to an asset that is not producing income. Commercial loans which are more than 90 days overdue and any consumer loans which are more than 180 days overdue are usually considered as Non-Performing Asset(s).
