What does Mercedes mean?
Emil Jellinek was a European entrepreneur who sat on the board of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) between 1900 and 1909. He specified an engine designed thereby Wilhelm Maybach and Gottlieb Daimler for the first modern car. Jellinek required naming the engine after his daughter, Mercedes Jellinek. Later, DMG and Benz & Cie. merged into what is now “ Mercedes-Benz ”
