What does MI mean?
Mineral-Insulated Copper-Clad (MICC) cable or Mineral-Insulated (MI) cable, is a type of electrical cable that can survive a fire. MI cable is made from copper conductors inside a copper sheath, insulated by inorganic magnesium oxide powder. The copper sheath and conductors, insulated with magnesium oxide ensure that the cable is able to withstand the effects of fire and is fully usable afterwards.
