What does Kv mean?
Kv stands for velocity constant or speed constant in Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) motors.
BLDC motors are a type of electric motor that is widely used in Radio-Controlled (RC) planes. BLDC motors are brushless Direct Current (DC) motors, which means that they do not have brushes that rub against the commutator. This makes them more efficient and durable than brushed DC motors.
Kv is defined as the number of revolutions per minute (rpm) that the motor will rotate when a voltage of 1 volt is applied, with no load attached to that motor.
For example, if a motor has a Kv value of 1000, it means that for every volt applied to the motor, it will rotate at 1000 rpm.
Note:
A higher Kv value indicates a motor that spins faster, while a lower Kv value indicates a motor that spins slower.
