Java Network Launching Protocol (JNLP) is an XML-based protocol to launch Java application over the Web. JNLP is an XML file containing information such as the remote address for downloading the jar package file (.JAR file) and the initial class to run, in addition to any other parameters for launching the application over a network or on the Web.
