What does JAM mean?
Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile (JAM) is an initiative by the Government of India to link Jan Dhan Yojana accounts, Aadhaar cards, and Mobile numbers. This integration enables the direct transfer of subsidies and benefits to intended beneficiaries by eliminating intermediaries and leakages.
JAM ensures the money reaches beneficiaries directly in their Jan Dhan bank accounts.

Jan Dhan Yojana account is a bank account opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), a financial inclusion program launched by the Government of India aims to provide universal access to basic banking services, such as opening a zero-balance savings account, insurance, and pension schemes.
