What does J2EE mean?
Jakarta EE, formerly known as Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE) is a Java computing platform which provides an Application Programming Interface (API) and runtime environment for developing and running enterprise software, including network and web services, and other large-scale, multitier enterprise applications. The J2EE platform simplifies enterprise applications by basing them on standardized, modular components, by providing a complete set of services to those components, and by handling many details of application behavior automatically, without complex programming.
