What does FL mean?
Flight Level (FL) is a standard measurement of altitude used in aviation.
FL is not the same as the actual Altitude above Sea Level (ASL), but rather an altitude based on a standard atmospheric pressure of 1013.25 hectopascals (hPa), which is roughly equivalent to 29.92 inches of mercury (Hg).
Note:
Flight Level is expressed as FL followed by a three-digit number representing hundreds of feet.
For example, FL350 means the aircraft is flying at a pressure altitude equivalent to 35,000 feet.
