What does EV mean?
Exposure Value (EV or Ev) is a unit used to measure exposure. It is a combination of shutter speed (exposure time) and aperture which give the same exposure. EV numbers are a shorthand substitute for the shutter speed and aperture combination, using a single number instead of two. Each EV number represents any of many different but equivalent combinations of aperture and shutter speed that will provide the same exposure.
