What does EGR mean?

Endoscopic Gastrocnemius Recession (EGR), also known as Endoscopic Gastrocnemius Release (EGR) or Endoscopic Gastroc Release (EGR), is a procedure used in the correction of conditions such as flatfoot, chronic Achilles tendonitis, or equinus.
Gastrocnemius recession or Gastrocnemius release is a surgical technique that lengthens the gastrocnemius tendon, relieving tightness in these structures. This is done to increase the flexibility of the calf muscle, which can decrease pressure at the front of the foot, improve function, and decrease deformity.

Note:
Gastrocnemius (Gastroc) is the larger calf muscle.
