Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) is a thermoanalytical technique that measures the difference in heat flow (hence differential) between the “system” and a “reference” as a function of temperature or time (hence scanning). DSC is a popular technique to detect endothermic and exothermic transitions like the determination of transformation temperatures and enthalpy of solids and liquids.
