What does CEIR mean?

Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) is a database of mobile phones maintained by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in India.
CEIR is a centralized system designed to track and block stolen or lost mobile phones by their unique International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers. When a user reports their mobile phone as lost or stolen, the CEIR blocks the phone's IMEI number, preventing it from accessing mobile networks.
Similarly, if a lost or stolen mobile phone is found, the user can contact the CEIR to unblock the IMEI number and enable the phone to connect to mobile networks again.
