What does CCSF mean?
Certified Cargo Screening Facility (CCSF) is a cargo screening facility certified by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) under Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP). In order for the certification, the facility should meet a variety of rigorous security standards and will be regulated by TSA. CCSP enables independent organizations, such as shippers, manufacturers, warehousing entities, distributors, and third-party logistics providers to be certified as CCSF and allow them to screen cargo prior to acceptance at the freight forwarder or air carrier. Thus eliminate the risk of a shipment being refused by the airline or the added delay of having the airlines perform this same process.
Note:
Screening is the physical examination or non-intrusive method of assessing whether cargo poses a threat to transportation security.
