What does BCE mean?
Before the Common Era (BCE) is an alternative naming of the traditional calendar era. BCE is used to avoid reference to Christianity and, in particular, to avoid naming Christ as Lord. Before the Common Era (BCE) and the Common Era (CE), which are exactly the same as BC and AD respectfully. However, the C in CE and BCE can be said as Current, Common, or Christian.
