AOAC International or Association of Analytical Communities (AOAC), was informally founded in September 8, 1884 as the Association of Official Agricultural Chemists. In 1965, the name changed to Association of Official Analytical Chemists. In 1991, it was renamed AOAC International. AOAC International is a globally recognized, 501(c)3, independent, not-for-profit association serving communities of the analytical sciences as a standards developing organization.
