Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) is an auto insurance company based in the United States. The name GEICO goes back to the beginnings of the company. Founder Leo Goodwin first targeted a customer base of U.S. government employees and military personnel. The mascot for the company is a Gecko - a small lizard with adhesive fingers and toes for climbing vertical surfaces.
